The Municipal Rescue Services is provided by the volunteer Rescue Squad of the Crowsnest Pass. The provision of rescue services is today recognized as a serious "business" and is carried out with regards to accepted industry standards and practices.
The chief of the rescue department, along with the team members, have done a tremendous job of responding to these challenges. They have been working together to coordinate their efforts and to share their expertise and resources.
Working Together You and Your Volunteer Rescue Squad
Members are experienced in land rescues. Services provided include cliff rescues, river rescues, avalanche searches, and vehicle extrication. Members are trained in first aid and CPR. Some are Emergency Medical Technicians. Provides services to the RCMP, Crowsnest Pass Fire Department, Sparwood Fire Department, and Land and Forest Service of Blairmore, when requested. Member of SAR Alberta. Funded through local fundraising activities. Resources include a 2 4 wheel drive vehicles, quads, snowmobiles and sleds, ropes, maps, trauma kits, and air bags. Founded 1984. Twelve volunteer members.
